The Galaxy S10 arrives in 2019 and Samsung desperately needs it to be a success. As the world's largest phone manufacturer, Samsung has a lot to do for this 10th generation of its Galaxy S. Under these conditions, there are many rumors.
A chorus of analysts and experts paint the image of a Galaxy S10 packed with potentially extraordinary features, including an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and an Infinity-O edge-to-edge display. If these rumors are accurate, the Galaxy S10 could reconnect with the great successes of yesteryear – and secure its place at the top of a highly contested ranking.
If not, the road could be difficult. The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus, launched last February, did not sell particularly well. The slowdown in phone sales is now a threat for all brands. And Chinese manufacturer Huawei, which has ousted Apple to take second place, is putting increasing pressure on Samsung. Despite its own problems, including increasing hostility from governments in the United States and around the world, Huawei continues to drive sales with innovative products such as the Mate 20 Pro.
In addition, there are two emerging technologies that promise to change the smartphone landscape in the short term. Samsung is fighting LG, Huawei and others to be the first to market a foldable phone. And all phone manufacturers are rushing to produce devices that can support 5G. Models should be presented at the MWC 2019.
For the moment, we follow the rumors and the different sounds of corridor that arise every day. The size of the screen, the design of the camera and its components and any other interesting information.

Galaxy S10: the summary of rumors
We will update this list of rumors as they appear, so do not hesitate to go back. Last update: 10/01/19
3 + 1
According to the Wall Street Journal, Samsung will launch four S10 models in total. The first three would be marketed in March, then another compatible 5G that would arrive a little later.
Date of presentation and release
All indications are that the launch of the Galaxy S10 will take place on February 20th, followed by a sale on March 8th. If this is the case, the Galaxy S10 would be presented on the Wednesday before kick off of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. We have not yet heard of the venue of Samsung's next event, but New York or Barcelona are two potential candidates. If this timing is confirmed, Samsung will probably keep the launch of its next folding phone "Galaxy F" for the MWC, a few days later

Three Galaxy S10, Plus and Lite models
According to the rumor, the Galaxy S10 would arrive in three configurations.
- Galaxy S10: named Beyond 1 code, this model would be the same size as the Galaxy S9, but with even finer borders. It is expected to have a 6.1-inch screen and a front camera.
- Galaxy S10 Plus: Possibly named Beyond X or Beyond 2, would be the successor of the Galaxy S9 Plus. It would have a bigger screen – maybe 6.4 inches – and up to four rear cameras, two front cameras and a big battery. Despite some rumors about 5G support, we think it's unlikely.
- Galaxy S10 Lite: It could be a smaller and less expensive device, with a 5.8-inch screen. It could carry the code name Beyond 0, a kind of competitor of the iPhone XR. Other rumors indicate the presence of a flat screen (instead of being curved) the absence of fingerprint reader under the screen and no headphone jack.
And the foldable Galaxy?
Samsung introduced a foldable phone at its annual developer conference in November. It should be introduced in the first quarter of 2019. Samsung should differentiate the launch of the new S10 and F (for "foldable") to not cannibalize sales and media attention. Samsung has committed to release four 5G phones in 2019, but the Galaxy S10 should not have this technology.

A fingerprint reader under the screen?
Qualcomm has announced that its Snapdragon SoC 855 will support ultrasonic fingerprint readers built into the display. Samsung should use this technology on its Galaxy S10. Ultrasonic fingerprint sensors promise to read your fingerprints accurately and securely through water and dirt. We have seen this technology in development for years and it looks very promising.
In total, six cameras?
The high-end version of the Galaxy S10 could be equipped with six cameras. Four in the back and two in the front. We would end up with a wide-angle camera, an optical zoom, a monochrome and a classic sensor.
Samsung One UI
Samsung has confirmed to CNET that all future phones, including the foldable version, will use the new One UI interface. The design of the One UI interface is made to facilitate one-handed operation. It will work with Android Pie, the ninth version of Google's mobile software, but not with earlier versions of Android.
