The Ring Stick Up Cam Battery security camera may seem to you that it has a long name and that it did not go through the marketing area; However, we are talking about a camera that despite the name has a beautiful design and also very good functions.

Both cameras are so similar that their price – US $ 99.99 – is the same, with or without electricity cable.

The Ring Stick Up Cam Battery is a very pretty camera, with the predominant white color (there is also a black version) that makes it extremely clean to be placed in an unattractive place (and not steal glances) or in a place very colorful without breaking the harmony and is also for interior or exterior.
Despite having a somewhat delicate finish, the Ring Stick Up Cam (Battery) is waterproof, so you can place it on your terrace or at the entrance of your house without fear of decomposition. In addition, Ring offers a one-year warranty (and lifetime warranty on operation).
The product box, although it may not look like it, includes everything you need to get it going. In a first test unit that we received from Ring, the camera seemed to be damaged. We got in touch with customer service and the exchange for a new unit was quick and no problem – this is also the case for the user. The service is quite good and following the line of customer service that Amazon offers (Ring is an Amazon subsidiary).
With the second unit there was no problem in several weeks of use.
The box includes a camera, its battery (which is the Ring standard that also works for the Spotlight Cam), a screwdriver, screws and the complete guide for, if you want to do it, place it on a wall. Ring places all the necessary tools that the installation is done in less than five minutes.
Maybe the design is somewhat robust and very cylindrical. A next generation of the camera could bring reduction in size, a change that would suit him.
Configuration and use
These types of cameras can be a headache, because unlike a phone or a tablet, it is not very common for the user to configure a security camera. But the reality is quite the opposite: the first thing to do is to download the Ring app for Android in the Play Store or for iOS in the App Store; Then the app starts and a unique QR code that comes in the camera is scanned. Once this is done, the configuration is done in one or two more minutes from the app to finalize aspects such as login and network configuration.
Once you set it up and place it (a process that should not take more than 5 minutes or 10 minutes if you are going to attach it to the wall), it is ready for use.
The mobile application is spectacular and very functional so you can configure everything from your smartphone. And when I say everything is everything. The Ring app allows you to increase the field of vision in which you will detect movement; enable or disable integrated lights; enable or disable notifications; check battery status; modify the location or network of the camera and much more. The app also serves to watch the motion videos that your camera recorded.
The video recording and its corresponding upload to the cloud is extremely fast and normally when I receive a notification of movement and enter the app to watch the video, it is already available (on very few occasions, the video is still being processed; but in general does not take much time).
