Because it's just easy. Do not make it harder for yourself and your audience than necessary. With a few tips, you become a master of comprehensible speech.
Tip 1 for simple speeches:
Listening is harder than reading!
Be sure to formulate short, concise sentences. Write a maximum of 16 words. This is the average number of words in an agency message. Remember: "Your listeners have no way of understanding a sentence that consists of several parts, of which you can not remember at the end how it started in the first place, to understand with a listening, where you have the possibility of a written text, to start again in the foreground in order to visualize the content. "So please do not!
Tip 2 for simple speeches:
Assume the least possible prior knowledge!
What you know yourself, the audience of your speech is far from knowing. So do not save on explanations to make the content of your speech understandable.
Tip 3 for simple speeches:
Use as little technical Chinese as possible!
Again, assume that there is no previous knowledge. Formulate so that even a layman can follow your comments. Technical jargon and complicated foreign words make it hard to understand your speech.
Tip 4 for simple speeches:
Think of your audience as a teenager!
Even the big ones like the Wall Street Journal prepare speeches that they can be understood by an average 14-year-old. Your auditorium will be grateful if it does not have to be fully concentrated on your lips. It can follow your speech relaxed, gets everything and is informed in the end and not leached.
