Wimbledon 2019, the third Grand Slam of the professional tennis circuit, started on July 1 in England as one of the most prestigious events in the world of sports that lasts a total of two weeks.

In the men's box at Wimbledon, Roger Federer is back at the All England Club in London to continue conquering titles. Federer currently holds the record for eight titles at Wimbledon and is looking for his ninth crown in this 2019 edition.

However, Novak Djokovic, who is in search of his fifth title at Wimbledon, and Rafael Nadal, who is looking for his third title in the prestigious event on turf, are some of the possible obstacles that the Swiss will have to overcome to achieve another crown at the All England Club.

Although Nadal is the main hope for Hispanics in Wimbledon, Guido Pella, Roberto Bautista Agut and Diego Schwartzman are others who are still alive in the tennis tournament.

In double, Juan Sebastián Cabal with Robert Farah, the brothers Granollers and Feliciano López with Pablo Carreño Busta are the main Hispanic bets for doubles in men.

In the women's box at Wimbledon, Ashleigh Barty is the first seed after winning Roland Garros last month, but for many the main favorite is Serena Williams for her great career.

Williams is looking for her eighth crown at Wimbledon, while other players like Simona Halep and Caroline Wozniacki are looking for their first title at the All England Club.

Some of the Hispanic hopes, Mónica Puig and Garbiñe Muguruza, already said goodbye to the tennis tournament. Carla Suárez Navarro is now the main Hispanic hope to win the Wimbledon crown.

Andy Murray is also back, but he is only competing in mixed doubles and doubles with Serena Williams as a couple.

Google Chrome wants to block (too) heavy and intrusive ads

Google would develop a new kind of "ad blocker" for its Chrome web browser. As reported by our colleagues 9To5Google, this tool would tackle the heavy ads, that is to say those who consume a little too much bandwidth and who solicit the processor. They would simply be deleted with the following message: "this ad is using too much resources for your device, so Chrome has removed itIn practice, this tool would block advertisementsthat represent
0.1% of bandwidth usage, 0.1% of CPU usage
per minute and 0.1% of total CPU time. Current figures are 4MB in
network and 60 seconds of CPU, but they can be modified as
additional data is available.

Do not kill the goose that lays the golden eggs

Internet advertising is a strategic issue for many players. Recall that in 2018, in France, the digital advertising market represented around 5 billion euros. Particular care is therefore taken to its integration to avoid that it is (too) intrusive and it harms the experience of Internet users.

In addition to this tool blocking ad-intensive ads, Google wants to change the way Chrome extensions work. The stated goal would be to improve performance, but also the privacy and security of extensions. An announcement that quickly aroused concern among developers who see it as yet another means of control and the end of some services.

Last year, an Oppo patent caught my attention. The Chinese giant had improved the design of its periscope camera to achieve a hybrid zoom of 10 magnifications. Later, Huawei got ahead of Oppo by launching a P30 Pro with the same technology. The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom would eventually reach the stores overshadowed by Huawei's flagship, but now that Huawei is going through a sales crisis, the Oppo becomes a worthy alternative.

16 MP F2,0

The new Reno 10x Zoom is an awesome phone. All screen. Amazingly fast. With 256GB base storage, battery for almost two days and a very versatile camera system. But it is also a large, heavy and too slippery phone to use without a case. You fall in love with its curious emerging shark fin camera and you hate it every time it falls off the couch or escapes your hands by suicidal tendencies.

GIF: Matías S. Zavia (Gizmodo in Spanish)

There are several things to note about the appearance of the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom. The first is that, although the screen occupies the entire front, the phone manages to differentiate itself from its competitors with three striking elements:

  1. The emerging camera. Instead of rising at a right angle, like the camera of other phones without notch, the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom's pop-up camera module rises at an angle of 11 degrees. The result is a curious wedge-shaped appendage that appears and disappears on the screen when you activate the flashlight or selfies camera. In addition to the front camera and the flash of the rear camera, it contains a headset and a proximity sensor (which works even when the camera is closed). According to Oppo, the emergent camera of the Reno series opens in 0.8 seconds and can be used more than 200,000 times without fail (100 times a day for five years). Like other similar models, it comes with a fall protection mechanism that detects in real time when the phone is in free fall and automatically retracts the camera to prevent it from being damaged.
  2. The ceramic ball. Or the "point O", as Oppo calls it. A small addition on the rear glass that slightly lifts the phone when you rest it on a flat surface. In the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom, the three rear lenses are aligned below the glass, without adding an extra thickness to the design, something we had not seen in a phone with these characteristics for some time. The "point O" is adorned with a green ring that combines with the green button power and reminiscent of the little ball that had the Sony Ericsson (although this is more discreet).
  3. The color gradients. The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is available in two colors: intense black and ocean green. They are actually two gradients of color that, while still elegant, manage to attract glances. The green ocean mixes matte green with reflections of dark green, and the intense black mixes grays with blues. The one you see in the photos is the black model.
Photo: Matías S. Zavia (Gizmodo in Spanish)

Beyond these three particularities, the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is a glass phone (Gorilla Glass 6 on the front and Gorilla Glass 5 on the back) with a 6.6-inch screen that occupies 93.1% of the front. Not only is it a large phone, it is also quite heavy (215 grams) because of the camera mechanism.

As for punches and dirt: my test unit ended up with several scratches on the back after four major falls, but surprisingly it did not crack, nor does it have visible blows; neither are the footprints too noticeable (even though it is the black model), but the pop-up chamber does accumulate dust easily; It is yet to be seen how this affects its long-term durability.

GIF: Matías S. Zavia (Gizmodo in Spanish)

The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom (a rather complicated name, by the way) can be unlocked with a hidden optical fingerprint sensor under the screen or by facial recognition through the front camera. If you are a regular reader of my analyzes, you will know that I hate fingerprint sensors under the screen, but this one is devilishly fast and reliable (in the sense that it fails a little). Fortunately, the alternative, facial recognition, triggers the mechanism of the emergent camera every time you use the phone (and although it works fast, I do not like the idea of accelerating the wear of those small moving parts).

As in other terminals, you can unlock the phone with the screen off (the fingerprint sensor lights up when it detects that you have lifted the phone) and thus avoid the unlock button. The system is quite comfortable.

Photo: Matías S. Zavia (Gizmodo in Spanish)

The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom (seriously, what a complicated name) has three rear cameras and a front camera. Let's start with the front. Hidden in the pop-up module, it's a fairly new technology to show off in front of your friends (mine are at least surprised to see how it works). It has a sensor of 16 megapixels and aperture f / 2.0. It records Full HD video at 30 fps and comes with a ridiculous amount of beauty add-ons based on machine learning algorithms. It can soften your face, make your face thinner, make your face smaller, sharpen your chin, make your eyes bigger, make your nose smaller or erase imperfections in the skin.

The results of the front camera are disappointing for a phone in this range. There is a lack of detail, it is easy for the photos to go out frantic or burned and, if the HDR jumps, then the colors of the background do not correspond to the reality:

This selfie was not backlit and yet the automatic HDR shattered the colors of the landscape so as not to burn the sky

The colors of the skin, on the other hand, tend to be natural, even in low light conditions (whenever you switch off the beauty mode, which is usually a hindrance):

In this nocturnal selfie, however, he adjusted the colors to perfection

The rear camera system is much more interesting and, above all, more versatile. The main camera has a Sony IMX586 48-megapixel sensor, 26 mm lens with aperture f / 1.7, laser focus, phase detection focus (PDAF) and optical stabilizer. There is a wide angle of 16 mm with focal f / 2.2 and 8 MP sensor, but it has no stabilizer and leaves a lot to be desired. Finally, there is the jewel in the crown, a periscope camera (that of the square lens) of 130 mm. It has a 13 MP sensor, aperture f / 3.0, optical stabilizer, laser focus and PDAF. Combined, the cameras can make an optical zoom of 5 increases, a hybrid zoom of up to 10 increases and a digital zoom of up to 60 increases (although from 20x it begins to be unusable).

That blessed zoom is addictive:

Wide angle camera (0.6x zoom)
Main camera (2x zoom)
Camera-periscope (6x zoom)

Really addictive:

Wide angle camera (0.6x zoom)
Main camera (2x zoom)
Camera-periscope (6x zoom)

So addictive that I think I'm going to jail:

Main camera (1x zoom)
Camera-periscope (6x zoom)
Wide angle camera (0.6x zoom)
Camera-periscope (10x zoom)

(I'm kidding, the girls in that pool are my friends and they gave me their express consent to go out in the pictures, do not use your Oppo Reno 10x Zoom to spy on people, that's tremendously immoral and probably illegal!).

But no matter how addictive the zoom is, none of the three cameras is without problems. The wide angle has less detail and many difficulties to focus. The periscope camera loses luminosity with respect to the others. And the main camera, even being the most reliable of the three and the one that offers sharper results, has some problems of dynamic range, probably because of a HDR much lower than mobile phones like the Pixel 3 or the iPhone XS:

Wide angle camera (0.6x zoom)
Camera-periscope (10x zoom)
Main camera (1x zoom)

In addition to the beauty mode, which can not be missing in a Chinese phone, the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom camera application has a specific button to automatically saturate the colors of the scene. It is called "dazzling color" and can do interesting things if used with care:

Dazzling color off
Dazzling color activated

Finally, there is a portrait mode, but it is quite limited. It does not allow you to change the bokeh effect, like the Samsung, nor adjust the blur level:

As for the video, I think the quality of the audio is its strong point. Oppo Audio Focus technology records the sound of the environment in 360º:

(Yes, I say the name of the phone wrong twice, it's a stupid name).

A phone with 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of UFS 2.1 memory and a Snapdragon 855 can not go wrong, but ColorOS 6 works great on Android 9 Pie.

The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom flows in any circumstance, starting with the unlocking of the screen and ending with the games. A system called "Touch Boost" accelerates the response time of the screen when it detects that you are playing, and another technology called "Frame Boost" analyzes the performance of the phone in real time and stabilizes the fps when it predicts a delay.

Beyond the software, the Reno 10x Zoom combines cooling gel, triple layer of graphite and copper tubes to dissipate heat while you play.

It is clear that a phone of this size will arrive at the end of the day without major problem, but can it last two days? In my experience, yes, as long as you reduce the number of notifications to a minimum. Beyond the 4065 mAh battery, the secret lies in how ColorOS 6 manages system processes, closing applications that have been inactive for some time by means of automatic learning. As for the charger, it is 20 W (full charge in 1:20).

More things

Photo: Matías S. Zavia (Gizmodo in Spanish)

You have all the information you need about ColorOS 6 on the Oppo website, so to finish I'll just mention three more details: Oppo boasts Dolby Atmos audio and stereo speakers, but the sound quality of this phone is one step below of the competition (it does not sound like a tin, like other Oppo I've tried, but it's not at all its strong point, and it does not have a 3.5mm socket).

The second thing that deserves a mention is the GPS. The Reno 10x Zoom has dual frequency GPS (L1 + L5), which means that it takes less time to pick up the signal than other mobiles and at the same time it captures a more accurate signal. Xiaomi had already introduced this innovation in its flagship last year, the Mi 8.

The third thing is that the screen (a bright AMOLED with 1080p resolution) is set by default with intense colors (P3 mode), which is how I think most people will like it. If you prefer more natural colors, you can switch to soft mode (sRGB) in the Display and brightness settings.

In summary

  • A very fast phone, with a huge AMOLED screen.
  • And with 256 GB base storage.
  • Instead of notch, he has a curious pop-up camera.
  • As a result, it is a heavier phone than normal.
  • And it's too slippery, I fell four times on the floor.
  • At the same time, it is surprisingly resistant.
  • The cameras are not perfect, but they are very versatile.
  • That zoom is crazy, and someday it will get me in trouble.

The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is for sale at Amazon.es for 798 euros.

The ultimate iPhone promo

Can not afford one of the latest Apple iPhone? Why not opt for the iPhone X? The birthday smartphone embeds most of the technologies found on the iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max.

Expected as the Messiah by Apple fans, the iPhone X has finally arrived and so far, it lives up to expectations. Edge-to-edge screen, flawless design, double stabilized photo sensor, and performance unmatched or almost, the iPhone X is the new iPhone that was expected since the iPhone 6. New, which will however require to relearn some gestures to use his smartphone. We will not forget the end of the TouchID fingerprint sensor in favor of FacialID facial recognition, which is not necessarily always practical. Still, the iPhone X is the indisputable choice at Apple at the end of the year for those who have the means.

Do you prefer compact smartphones? The iPhone 8 is for you. It was launched at the same time as the iPhone X and includes some elements of the datasheet of the latter.

After the iPhone 7 came the 8. Change number, design change, with a glass back for a small old school side that bloom good iPhone 4 and 4S. We are however in 2018 with a processor A11 "Bionic" performance worthy of a small computer. This year, Apple is finally getting the taste of the day by integrating wireless charging, and retains the seal. What to align with the other tenors of the market. Apple does not change anything on the screen: 4.7 inches in IPS, it has not moved since 2014. The iPhone 8 is still among the jewels of the mobile, but the real changes it will be the iPhone X.

The most interesting promotions on the iPad side

If you are looking for a tablet, we recommend the sixth generation iPad that is currently on sale Cdiscount during these summer sales. It includes an Apple A10 Fusion chip that allows it to display very good performance. This tablet also offers excellent reading comfort thanks to its 9.7-inch screen with a definition of 2048 x 1536 pixels.

If you wait to buy a tablet without breaking the bank while peeping the side of the iPad, this model very close to an iPad Pro at a much softer price is a very good choice. The support of the Apple Pencil stylus for drawing and writing brings a real gain on the productivity side and the addition of a faster A10 processor will allow this new iPad vintage 2018 to gain in durability. Regarding the ecosystem, iOS still offers the best selection of free and paid apps on affordable tablets. For its price and features, this 9.7-inch iPad offers everything you would expect from an effective tablet.

Do you need a bigger screen? Turn to this iPad model that has a 10.5-inch screen. Here too, performance is at the rendezvous with the Apple A10X Fusion chip.

After a 12.9 inch iPad Pro and a 9.7 inch, in 2017 Apple decided to upgrade to 10.5 inches for its "small model" iPad Pro. A new format that will offer more surface to the Apple Pencil for lovers of drawings. In addition to its size, the screen is now able to adjust its colorimetry according to the ambient light to get the right colors regardless of the conditions as well as a higher refresh rate to present more responsiveness and more fluid animations . An optimization of the display underlined by solid performance and an ecosystem well suited to professional uses. The king recovers his throne.

Mazda CX-5: price. Mazda CX 5 2019: Engine, gasoline, review, data sheet, opinions

The Mazda CX-5 2019 continues to set a design refinement and a good driving experience for a SUV with a competitive price.

mazda-cx 5-price-data-technical-2019

The Mazda CX-5 2019 remains as elegant as the last two generations.

Juan Garzón / CNET

Generally, the Mazda CX-5 has been compared to the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V, but the CX-5 has proven to offer more style since its renewal in 2017.

This elegance, plus the good driving experience, made the Mazda CX-5 has been the most sold vehicle of this car in the United States and worldwide, as reported by Mazda and the analysis firm Jato. Even the Mazda truck has become so important in the world market that it was the 25th best selling vehicle in the world, according to Jato.

That said, the Mazda CX-5 2019 benefits from the good reputation that its predecessors have generated so as not to bring about very drastic changes, but it does include the option of a Turbo engine (available in CX-5 Grand Touring Reserve 2019 and CX -5 Signature 2019) that makes the good driving experience itself better.

In addition, it adds compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in the Touring, Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve and Signature versions.

The Turbo, however, also causes the gasoline consumption of the Mazda CX-5 2019 not to be the best – while the regular engine keeps it in the average range – and its interior is not the most spacious in the category.

Mazda CX-5 2019: Price starts, engine and torque

  • CX-5 Sport: US $ 24,350 (2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, 187 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque)
  • CX-5 Touring: $ 26,615 (2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, 187 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque)
  • CX-5 Grand Touring: US $ 30,045 (2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, 187 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque)
  • CX-5 Grand Touring Reserve: US $ 34,870 (2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine on turbo, 227 at 250 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque)
  • CX-5 Signature: US $ 36,980 (2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with turbo, 227 to 250 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque)

Mazda CX-5 2019: MPG (gasoline consumption)

  • CX-5 Sport: 25 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway (FWD) – 24/30 MPG (AWD)
  • CX-5 Touring: 25 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway (FWD) – 24/30 MPG (AWD)
  • CX-5 Grand Touring: 25 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway (FWD) – 24/30 MPG (AWD)
  • CX-5 Grand Touring Reserve: 22 MPG in the city and 27 MPG on the MPG highway (AWD)
  • CX-5 Signature: 22 MPG in the city and 27 MPG on the MPG highway (AWD)

Editor's note: The test car used on this occasion was the Elite model, with a suggested price of US $ 36,890.

The Mazda CX-5 2019 has a small rear spoiler.

Juan Garzón / CNET

Exterior and design

The Mazda CX-5 2019 looks virtually identical to the CX-5 2018 and much like the 2017 edition, including relatively small and elongated lights, a pronounced horn with a relatively large grille and an elegant appearance, but at the same time sporty .

Now, however, you find a higher-end model with the CX-5 2019 Signature, which includes parking sensors in the rear and front, as well as 19-inch wheels with dark aluminum finish.

Another new version – a bit below the Signature – is the Grand Touring Reserve, which does not include the aforementioned sensors, but uses 19-inch wheels with a shiny silver finish (like the ones with the CX-5 Gran Touring) and It keeps mirrors electric mirrors that can be folded.

Interior and cabin

All versions of the Mazda CX-5 2019 have keyless start, air conditioning with pollen filter and capacity for five passengers.

Mazda CX 5 2019

The Mazda CX-5 2019 inside is even more elegant than the outside.

Juan Garzón / CNET

In general, the interior of the SUV is one of the most positive and negative aspects of the vehicle. First, the interior of the CX-5 is luxurious with different materials, curves and a lot of attention to detail. Second, the Mazda CX-5 2019 is compact and its space is limited compared to the competition.

However, the Mazda truck offers comfortable seats, and the rudder and different aspects of the design remind me a little of what Audi currently offers, a brand that has positioned itself in a more luxury segment.

That said, placing a child seat (car seat) is possible in the back seat just behind the driver, but you will feel more limited and stuck to the wheel.

Even, it seems to me that the experience is similar to what I experienced in the Toyota Corolla 2020, although it seems to offer a little bit more space.

However, people sitting in the back usually have enough space to be comfortable, although three adults may feel very tight and entering the car may not be as comfortable for very old people-precisely because of that compact appearance that has in the inside.

Technology: Infotainment, adaptive cruise control and more

All models of the Mazda CX-5 2019 SUV have an infotainment system with a 7-inch touch screen; the Sport version has four speakers, the Touring has six speakers, but the Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve and Signature have 10 Bose speakers.

Mazda CX-5 technology

The 7-inch screen of the infotainment system of the Mazda CX-5 that is now compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Jake Holmes / Roadshow

The infotainment system has not changed much since its last generation, but the great novelty comes with the compatibility it offers with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay (from the CX-5 Touring model, Sport is the only one that does not have it).

The system of the Mazda CX-5 2019 truck is still controlled primarily through the dial that is located just behind the gear bar and allows it to be easy to use without having to get too close to the screen or change your traditional driving position .

Still, the 7-inch touch screen allows you to control it with your fingers, but only when the SUV is stopped because the system deactivates that function when in motion.

The screen is visible, offers good details and responds equally well to your commands and in general is a pleasure to use. Inclusively, the screen offers better quality and experience than the car has as the Toyota Camry 2019 and the Honda Civic 2019. However, I would have liked it to be a little bigger.

As for the adaptive cruise control, it seems to me that the system of the Mazda CX-5 2019 works well and although it does not differ much from other cars in the market, I liked that it does not brake as aggressive or that it is not as sensitive as for example the Toyota Camry 2019 or Toyota Corolla 2020, nor the Honda Pilot 2019.

This Mazda SUV also has assistance to keep you in the lane and helps you no doubt to stay in the lane in which you are driving, but it does not necessarily have enough to be able to use it as an autopilot class because you end up many times going from one side to the other.

No doubt that what I experienced with the Audi A7 2019, like Audi A8 and A6 2019 works much better for that kind of purpose, although you have to keep in mind that they are vehicles from other totally different segments.

On the other hand, the Mazda CX-5 2019 Grand Touring Reserve has Active Driving Display or head-up display (HUD or semitransparent front screen), recognition of traffic signals, leather chairs (instead of cloth), front and rear ventilation, heated rudder and even a windshield that fights the ice.

The clarity and quality offered in the different conditions seemed better than what I experienced in the Toyota Camry 2019 and not very different from what I tried in the Audi A6 2019.

With the Signature, you also get a 360 degree camera, environmental LED lights on the inside, genuine wood on the board.

Mazda CX-5: Engine

The Mazda CX-5 2019 Sport, Touring and Grand Touring have a 16-valve, 4-cylinder, 4-cylinder Skyactiv-G engine with cylinder deactivation, with 187 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque.

For its part, the Mazda CX-5 2019 Grand Touring Reserve and Signature has a 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G engine with Turbo (Dynamic Pressure Turbo) with 227 horsepower using regular gasoline (87) or 250 horsepower using gasoline premium (93), as well as a torque of 310 pounds-feet.

Regardless of the model or engine you choose, you will find that the Mazda CX-5 2019 has a six-speed box.

mazda-cx5-2019 "height =" 0 "width =" 1092 "data-original =" https://cdn2.cnet.com/img/aavNlmj_-3AT0UFioF5cZveL9CA=/1092x0/2019/07/03/06058c00-3f9e- 4a1d-88b8-e9b2b7c86479 / mazda-cx5-2019.jpg "/></span><noscript><span><img src=

The engine of the Mazda CX-5 2019.

Juan Garzón / CNET

Mazda says it modified some aspects of the suspension and other components of the car to make the experience even better than what the previous model offered. However, the Mazda CX-5 2019 integrates an improved system of G-Vectoring Control Plus that allows to cut the torsion of some tires to have a better grip on the road in curves and thus offer a better experience.

Driving, the CX-5 2019 accelerates well and is very maneuverable. Its Turbo engine certainly helps to have a stronger start and is something that we have waited for several generations in this vehicle. The regular version might make some want a little more power, but in general it may be enough for everyday use.

The rudder is also comfortable to use, fluid and the Mazda truck responds well and easily to my commands.

The Mazda CX-5 2019 SUV is still one of the best compact trucks on the market, offering a design premium that makes her feel of another category and offers a very pleasant driving experience.

The van no doubt sacrifices a little of its internal space to offer more elegance, which can be good and bad depending on the use you give to this vehicle.

Its Turbo engine in the CX-5 Signature model and the CX-5 Grand Touring Reserve take the truck's driving experience to a more advanced level and will undoubtedly please many users who have been requesting this feature in the best-selling vehicle in the world. Mazda

The Turbo Engine, however, affects the proper gasoline consumption or (MPG) that the Mazda CX-5 2019 has, sacrificing undoubtedly a bit of efficiency for complacency. The gasoline consumption of engines in the other versions is average in the market.

The Mazda CX-5 Signature has a price of US $ 36,980, which makes it costly for its segment, but it can also serve as an alternative to more luxury brands, which usually manages to offer more things (without considering the brand ) than Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz at that price.

This was how to record the solar eclipse of 2019 for a movie

This can not be real, right?
Photo: Kevin Garrison (TXL Films)

It is one thing to include a great celestial event in the script of a movie, but something very different is to actually record it for the film. A mega-production of Hollywood could create it digitally in postproduction, but the team behind the new science fiction movie Nomad he wanted to do it in another way: they set out to film a real solar eclipse, which meant they had only two minutes and 18 seconds, in a very specific part of the world, to capture the shot.

8 spectacular photos of the total solar eclipse of 2019

On July 2, there was the one that will be the only total solar eclipse of 2019, which could have been …

"The eclipse scene will be intense," director Taron Lexton said in a press release weeks before filming. "We are filming an event that lasts two minutes. We have searched for locations for months to find the exact position. We are buying lenses and special equipment. The actors must have rehearsed perfectly. This is as exciting as it is terrifying, and we have only one chance to do it right. "

And what happened? You can see it in the exclusive video of our colleagues io9.

Yes, they have achieved it.

The filming took place in the Elqui Valley, Chile, during the only total solar eclipse of 2019. The reason they had so much pressure and little time to achieve this shot is that the next eclipse will not occur until the year 2020, and even then, perhaps then they would not have such a clear and close view as right now in the Elqui Valley. Basically, it was right now or they would have to wait years.

All this happened on July 2 during the total solar eclipse, and the video on these lines was filmed and edited overnight by Richard Brien. Not only does it show Lexton and his team capturing the shot, but it is also the first time an eclipse has been captured in large format with the Arri Alexa LF camera. Lexton and his team worked with Arri's team to make sure they knew exactly the best way to capture the eclipse, as they would have only one chance. Here you have another image.

This photo also shows that everything was worth it.

Why go through all these problems? Well, everything is in service to tell a story. Nomad, which from now on is officially in production, tells the story of a young woman who falls in love with a man. However, that man has a small problem: he moves spontaneously to another place in the world every 12 hours, without control or knowledge of where he will end up. We can assume that, at some point in the plot, they end up near an eclipse.

If you would like to continue the journey of Nomad, which, apart from that almost impossible shot, also involves filming in 25 countries on seven continents, his profile on Instagram is NomadTheFilm and on Facebook he is FilmingNomad.

Trump vs. Huawei: soon the end of the sanctions?

Citing suspicions of espionage and close ties to the Chinese state and its army, the US administration made the decision in mid-May to place Huawei on the list of companies that pose a threat to the country's security. A measure that prohibits US companies from trading with the Chinese group. However, the situation had rapidly changed with the introduction of a three-month period to allow companies in the sector to better organize … but also (and especially) to negotiate a trade agreement between the two countries.

Thus, on the sidelines of the G20 held last weekend in Osaka, US President Trump has paved the way for a reduction of sanctions, or even a suppression. As reported by Washington Post, Trump said " that it would allow US technology companies to provide Huawei with equipment for which there is no major national emergency ". This is not yet the white flag, but it is a first step towards de-escalation and the continuation of the negotiations that should reassure the many users of Huawei devices.

The US executive ready for de-escalation?

Larry Kudlow, the White House's economic adviser, was keen to clarify the words of the US president: " all that will happen is that the Commerce Department will grant additional licenses when there is a general availability of components Adding " it is not a general amnesty. National security concerns will remain paramount ".

Meanwhile, Huawei can work with Google and other US manufacturers until August 19, the end of the three-month period, granted by the Commerce Department. If eventually no agreement is found, Huawei should definitely turn its back on Google and Android and launch its own mobile OS called HongMeng. The launch could be done before the end of the year.

The Galaxy Note 10 should have these 6 features

The Galaxy Note 10 would continue to differentiate itself from others with a stylus, but it has multiple features that would surely make it even better.

Sarah Tew / CNET

Samsung finally confirmed the launch of the Galaxy Note 10 for August 7, in the second Unpacked 2019 event.

The company will present that new generation of cell phones in New York, in the same place where its predecessor, the Note 9, launched.

The invitation of the company does not reveal further details and although there are many rumors, here I compile the six features of the Galaxy Note 10 that I would like to come true.

It is worth noting that Samsung is expected not to present a single Galaxy Note 10, but also a Galaxy Note 10 Plus (formerly known as Galaxy Note 10 Pro) and even a Note 10 5G version.

What's new in the Galaxy Note 10 that I'd like to see

New design

The design of the Galaxy Note has not changed much in recent generations.

It is true that almost every phone looks like it today, but I would like Samsung to take a little more risk. The cell phone with relatively sharp corners, the rectangular module of the cameras and its backside of simply glass with the logo of the company and the model have become a bit boring.

A new camera module that is possibly more curved, a front of almost only a screen and new colors could be good changes. The corners might be more curved and the headset located just at the top edge.

Probably Samsung would have an ace up his sleeve, or maybe he would be keeping it until the arrival of the Galaxy S11.

More features in the S Pen

The stylus or S Pen of the Galaxy Note has evolved every generation, offering new features that although not useful at all times, when you really use them are a blessing.

It is not clear what novelty that S Pen could bring in the Galaxy Note 10, but it would be interesting if it integrates a microphone to serve as a wireless microphone, a laser to be able to point to presentations and even a camera to be able to take selfies and allow the front of the cell phone to be just a screen.

Faster loading

Quick Charge 2.0 has become the fast charge of Samsung phones for years, while many have already used Quick Charge 3.0 during that time or have even integrated technologies that allow charging not only up to 15 watts of power, but up to 40 watts as at OnePlus 7 Pro and Huawei P30 Pro or 50 watts as the Oppo R17 Pro.

It has been rumored that the Galaxy Note 10 would have a charge of 45 watts, which would allow the cell to charge much faster.

Best cameras

It has become customary that we expect every cell generation to integrate better cameras and the Galaxy Note 10 is no exception.

At a minimum, I hope that all Galaxy Note 10 have three rear cameras with different perspectives (a wide angle, a regular and a telephoto to zoom).

It would be great if the cameras of the Galaxy Note 10 could make optical zoom 3X or 5X and have an advanced formal night mode that allows you to compete better with the mode of the Pixel 3 and the Huawei P30 Pro.

UFS 3.0 storage instead of 2.1

It may be a change that goes unnoticed easily, but part of the good performance of the OnePlus 7 Pro is connected to the UFS 3.0 storage it uses, more advanced than what most of them offer with UFS 2.1.

Using this kind of storage will allow the cell phone to have the ability to read data faster to react faster and thus offer a better experience.

More differences in specifications with the Galaxy S10

The Galaxy Note series had managed to differentiate itself in its specifications, including a superior processor and other changes of the Galaxy S series.

In recent years, however, this has not been the same path that has taken to integrate the same processor and even the camera that the Galaxy S series. I would like the Note series to be differentiated more from the Galaxy S10 to let more in clear that not everything is about the S Pen.

However, it is very possible that the Galaxy Note 10 has at least the same processor Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9820 Samsung Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10 Plus and the other S10.
