According to The Information, Amazon is trading on a streaming video game service. The colossus of e-commerce would have already approached the publishers on the possibility of proposing their titles in the prospect of a launch which would take place in the course of 2020.
Amazon is not alone in this market. In October, Google unveiled a partnership with Ubisoft to bring the next Assassin's Creed Odyssey to its Chrome browser. The same month, Microsoft revealed that it was testing an Xbox game streaming service called Project xCloud. Games like Forza and Halo, originally designed for the Xbox One console, have been shown running on Android phones and tablets.
Sony's PlayStation Now service gives PS4 and Windows PC subscribers access to hundreds of streaming and downloadable games. Amazon has not yet commented on the revelations of The Information.
